Iranian President says United States should revise 'incorrect' Middle East policy

Iran's Defense Minister Amir Hatami discussed the US-proposed coalition to monitor the Persian Gulf region in a phone conversation with defense officials from Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.

Twelve months on from the United States withdrawal, Iran responded by suspending some of its commitments under the nuclear deal.

This decision followed attacks targeting oil tankers and the seizure of a British oil tanker amid aggravated tensions between Tehran and the US.

Iran has recently held high-level meetings with officials from Iraq, which also has close ties to the USA, and Oman, which has traditionally played a largely neutral role in regional affairs.

The Iranian Defence Minister, Amir Hatami, on Thursday repeated warnings that United States efforts to form a maritime security coalition would be counterproductive.

If Iranian forces attempt to board U.S. -flag vessels, the Maritime Administration said, the crew should identify the ship, "affirm that they are proceeding in according with worldwide law" and "immediately inform the U.S. Fifth Fleet Battle Watch".

Thus far, U.S. officials have reached out to officials from 62 countries to discuss the possibility of forming a coalition under the pretext of "securing" worldwide freedom of navigation in the Gulf, the Oman Sea and the Red Sea. It warned they could face interference to their global positioning systems (GPS).

Then leading 5-3, the Spaniard sealed the set with a great passing forehand shot down the line after Medvedev came to the net. Khachanov had little more problem with German Zverev, rattling through their quarter-final 6-3, 6-3 in 74 minutes.

The U.S. has especially fostered these ties since President Donald Trump abandoned a 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran past year, imposing sanctions created to isolate and undermine the revolutionary Shiite Islamic Republic.

Concerns about the situation prompted Britain's P&O Cruises to announce on Thursday that it was cancelling voyages to the Arabian Gulf for the winter season. "The Islamic Republic is in a full-scale war", Salami said.

Ortagus also said that the top USA diplomat and the crown prince "discussed other bilateral and regional developments, including countering the Iranian regime's destabilizing activities".

"Iran has put all its effort in this regard and believes that maintaining security in this region guarantees the development of the region, as well as the interests of its peoples", Rouhani said.

He emphasized that Iran has ensured the security of the Strait of Hormuz for decades and the presence of countries outside the region has hampered the security.

"It just doesn't have the resources and is hence trying to make sure ship masters follow best practices if and when the United States military can't make it to a crisis situation in time", he said. "That would play directly into Tehran's narrative".
