BTS Announce Extended Break for the First Time Since Their Debut

Aside from music, the group has also found success in film, landing in this week's box office top 10 with "Bring The Soul: The Movie", according to Deadline.

In a recent Twitter statement, BTS's management company, Big Hit Entertainment announced that the seven-man band will be taking an extended break in order to "recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators".

BTS - short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, literally "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" - have not said how long their break will be.

"If you run into BTS at an unexpected place, we ask for the fans' consideration to allow the members to enjoy their private time", Big Hit requested in the statement. "Fans care about the members and want them to get some rest as well. This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly", the English version of the statement read.

Comprised of members RM, Jungkook, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin and V - the band became the first Korean act to top the United Kingdom charts earlier this year with its Map of the Soul: Persona album.
