Novak Djokovic overcomes plucky Bautista Agut to reach Wimbledon final

My concern is that despite Bautista-Agut winning three of their previous 10 meetings, he's only won 55% of service points and held serve just 63% of the time against Djokovic. While a repeat of that epic appears unlikely, few matches in recent years have whet the appetite as this upcoming semifinal.

Rafael Nadal won the second set of his Wimbledon semifinal against Roger Federer 6-1 to level the set score at 1-1. No. 3 Nadal is second among men with 18 Grand Slam titles and beat Sam Querrey 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 in his respective quarterfinal. "I got a bit tight and it was a very important probably first four or five games of the second set".

Nadal saved two break points at 1-1 in the second set before breaking Federer twice in a row and serving it out at love.

Old rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will meet at Wimbledon for the first time in nine years as they face off in the semi final tomorrow. And it's the fourth time they'll play at Centre Court; Federer leads 2-1. "You can dive into all that stuff or say this is grasscourt tennis and just attack".

Federer hit back immediately, however, turning the breaker on its head and winning five straight points to go one set up after 51 minutes.

Roger Federer feels that either he can look into the numbers and tactics before the match or just go there and play aggressive tennis.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic withstood a courageous effort by Roberto Bautista Agut as he wore down the Spaniard 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the Wimbledon final for the sixth time in his career.

Taken to deuce at 4-2 Djokovic jogged to his bag and dug around among his rackets, searching for the right string tension to counter his resurgent opponent.

"We had some brutal conditions to play (in) there". It could be a classic.Of course, iIt might not be, but it is Federer vs Nadal.

So who wins Federer vs. Nadal?

Roenigk believes Nadal has shown enough in this tournament to have a great chance to upset Federer on the Swiss' favorite surface.

Nadal won that match 9-7 in the fifth set.

Like Roenigk, Wertheim suggests there is a case to make Nadal favorite on Friday.

However, the match will only start after the end of the semifinal match between Novak Djokovic and Robert Bautista Agut. He has been just terrific in this tournament.

In terms of anticipation, the Djokovic-Batista Agut semifinal felt like an undercard compared to the Federer-Nadal clash in store.

"The longevity of Federer and Nadal has been a testament to their imagination".

However, Federer further added that he will obviously analyze Nadal's game with the help of Seve and Ivan before coming into the match.

"Federer hasn't reached his peak level so far at Wimbledon, yet no one has seriously challenged him, either", he wrote.

This will be his maiden major semi-final appearance.

But Djokovic was back to his form of the first set and two breaks quickly followed. According to Oddschecker, the Spaniard is a 10/13 favorite to win, while Federer is a 23/18 shot.

Nadal handed Federer his worst loss at a Slam in 11 years in the semi-finals at Roland Garros last month on his way to a 12th title in Paris. Roberto Bautista-Agut, meanwhile, is a 40/1 outsider.
