House OKs limiting Trump ability to strike Iran

House OKs limiting Trump ability to strike Iran

Saikat Chakrabarti, a Texas-born techie who is chief of staff to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC), is facing the wrath of Democratic leader House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the party's old guard after several controversial tweets, including ones in which he suggested the party is still hadn't gotten rid of its racist legacy and its leadership is soft on President Donald Trump.

You see, despite her Tweeted attempt on Tuesday to blame Republicans for not understanding a simple matter of two women who "happen to disagree", AOC was directly going after Pelosi.

Davids has also voiced support for Dreamers and, in a political podcast a year ago, expressed a willingness to defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a position typically associated with progressives like Ocasio-Cortez. She should treat Nancy Pelosi with respect.

The tweet has emerged as a key flash point in a simmering feud between Pelosi and "the Squad" - freshman Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Rashida Tlaib of MI, and Ocasio-Cortez of New York - one that burst into a full boil this week after simmering for months when Pelosi told The New York Times that the four "didn't have any following, " citing their lonely votes last month against a Democratic-crafted bill to address the southern border crisis. They day after that tweet, Wednesday, the Washington Post published an article quoting her saying that the simple disagreement was part of a "persistent" and "explicit singling out of newly elected women of color" by Pelosi and the Democratic leadership. She is a phenomenal new member who flipped a red seat blue.

But apparently fellow Democrats aren't so easily fooled.

On Friday, Trump said Ocasio-Cortez was not well-liked by online retail giant Amazon for pushing the company and "thousands and thousands of jobs" out of its planned expansion in the Long Island City neighborhood of NY.

It appears the advice was ignored by her caucus' account.

"What a weak argument, because you can't get your way and because you're getting pushback, you resort to using the race card?"

China vows to impose sanctions on United States firms supplying Taiwan military
The US state department declined to comment and the US firms involved in the Taiwan arms deal did not immediately respond. Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, despite Chinese opposition, was permitted to make a stopover in NY on Thursday.

Sitting at the same witness table as their Democratic counterparts, four border state Republicans blamed the Democratic Party for the problem. Chakrabarti's response: I think the point still stands.

"They're more than four votes". Pressley said one woman she met feared for her health because her seizure medication had been confiscated. "They represent the best of American democracy".

You can read the whole thing here. "We need Iran and its terrorist proxies to think twice before they attack Americans, our friends or our interests", he said.

Trump said he's had to deal with Pelosi often - "we go back and forth, and it's fine", he said - and suggested the speaker should quash the criticism from within her caucus, telling reporters that Pelosi can not "let that go on".

Another congressional newcomer, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., said, "We do have a crisis at our border".

"It's really just pointing out the pattern, right?"

The Missouri Democrat, who faces a primary challenge from the left backed by Justice Democrats, which helped launch Ocasio-Cortez's campaign, dismissed that group as "juvenile" and "ignorant". I agree with the Speaker.
