Engine Failure Causes Delta Emergency Landing

Engine Failure Causes Delta Emergency Landing

"After we heard the boom we just saw all this smoke coming up into the cabin, and that's when we really started freaking out", passenger Avery Porch told WMAR News in Baltimore.

A passenger has filmed the moment that an engine suffered massive failure on a USA flight.

Tyler Kreuger, Porch's boyfriend, sat next to her and contemplated a grim possibility.

As reported by Airlive, after the plane landed, the passengers were booked on to alternative flights to Baltimore, with the engine replaced and the MD 88 plane was returned to service yesterday. "It [the plane] started slowing down a bit [and] the air cut off", she said.

A passenger-recorded video of the left engine shows a partially detached spinner bouncing around the inlet.

Passengers were praying and trying to text family members moments before a Delta Airlines flight made an emergency landing in North Carolina.

Trump rule requiring drug prices in TV ads blocked
HHS said the 10 most commonly advertised drugs have list prices of $488 to $16,938 per month or for a usual course of therapy. The Trump Administration's plans to force drug companies to include pricing information in drug ads just failed in a big way.

"I pulled out my phone and I know I didn't have service I just texted my mom, 'I love you.' I texted my dad, 'I love you, '" Krueger said.

Another passenger said: "After, the cabin filled with smoke and seat belt signs went on and off, and you could smell something was burning. They did say that the plane will now be retired".

Gizmodo has reached out to Delta Air Lines for further comment on this incident, and we'll update if we hear back.

The 148 passengers on board were placed on another plane in Raleigh, Delta said, adding that the aircraft's engine had been replaced and the damaged engine would be examined by their maintenance team in Atlanta.

Passengers were rebooked on another flight to Atlanta later that day. "We apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this diversion may have caused". In a statement, Delta said there had been a contained failure in one of the engines, ABC News reported.
