Amber alert issued for Dallas toddler placed in custody of aunt

Family and police sources have reportedly said that an 18-month-old boy at the center of a now-canceled Amber Alert in Texas is dead.

'We still don't know who has the child or who took the child, ' Maj.

The boyfriend of Cedric's aunt, Sedrick Johnson, has allegedly confessed to dumping the child's body in a dumpster in Northeast Dallas.

In the past seven months, there have been five Amber Alerts issued in Ontario.

The toddler was living with his aunt and had been placed in her temporary custody by the state Child Protective Services office, police Maj.

Cedrick Jackson is a black male, 1 1/2 years old, 30 inches tall, 20 pounds, black hair with braids, brown eyes, last seen wearing a diaper.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 911 or the Dallas police at 214-671-4268.

Cedrick was reported missing from the Twin Oaks Apartments, in the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive, around 6 a.m. Wednesday. Thomas said that she and Cedric's father, Cedric Jackson Sr., were OK with the decision.

Jackson's aunt, Crystal, stated she had woke up during the night and noticed that both Johnson and Jackson were missing.

Not much is known about the grandfather's condition at the time, but police have described him as a "confused and vulnerable person".

"He's dead", she said. "Is something bad happening to my child?' We just want everybody to put themselves in those positions".

Cedric's parents would visit him frequently and last saw him on Saturday, according to WFAA.

On Wednesday night, Major Max Geron hosted a press conference on the details about the initial investigation.
