Twitter reacts after Eden Hazard seals Real Madrid transfer

Chelsea will view the outcome of lengthy negotiations with Madrid as a big success, as Real had been reluctant to pay more than £88m.

The Belgium worldwide attacker won two Premier League titles and as many UEFA Europa League crowns during his time at Chelsea, where he played alongside Courtois before the goalkeeper left for Madrid in 2018/2019.

"It has been a year to step back and gain momentum [for Benzema]."Every player is good at Real Madrid and anyone would like to have players like them in their team".

The rumours rumbled on and Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri seemed resigned to losing Hazard following the club's final Premier League game of the season, insisting the club must "respect" the player's final decision.

While the fee was not revealed, Spanish media reported it was the same price Real paid for Wales forward Gareth Bale when he joined from Tottenham in 2013 for £88 million (S$153 million), a staggering amount considering Hazard only had a year left on his contract.

Chelsea fans weren't surprised to see the news break on Friday night and instead can now assess their options going into their first season without him in seven years.

The story is I saw an interview with him, and it was just on my mind. "I do that stuff sometimes". I'm really skinny right now. "And I think he'd probably be out of my weight class".

"I hope that we are drawn against each other in the Champions League next season and every season so we can meet again".

However, Thibaut Courtois felt his signing was a coup and would "make the difference" next season.

Speaking with website AS following Belgium's 3-0 win in their Euro 2020 qualifying fixture against Kazakhstan on Saturday, Courtois said: "If he speaks a little Spanish, it will be even better".

"I wish each and every one of you the very best my friends".

After a frustrating season at the Bernabeu the fans will be happy with the clubs first major summer transfer and Hazard should be able to fill the missing magic at the club.

Hazard went on to say: "Even when we were not playing well, I tried to do my best and this has been thanks to your fantastic support".
