Jan Oblak wants Atletico Madrid exit amid David de Gea uncertainty

Jan Oblak has reportedly handed Manchester United a massive transfer boost after disclosing he prefers a switch to Old Trafford if he quits Atletico Madrid.

This comes after the shot-stopper expressed his concerns regarding the competitiveness of the La Liga outfit heading into next season, stressing that despite recently signing a new contract, his future at the club depends on their ambition matching his own.

The Slovenia worldwide has been heavily linked with a move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this summer following David De Gea's decision to leave Old Trafford.

Oblak dropped hints regarding his future earlier this week, alluding that he could leave Atleti this summer despite his recent contract renewal.

He now favours a move to United due to "broken promises", according to reports.

United have had to prepare for De Gea's potential departure as contract negotiations broke down with his current deal expiring next year.

He was accused of being a spy and a year later sentenced to 10 years in prison and handed a $4.2 million fine. A top Lebanese security official is in Tehran to secure Zakka's release, which has been anticipated.

Obviously Man Utd would be devastated to lose the Spaniard as he's been their best player over the past five years but it would certainly soften the blow if the Manchester giants were able to sign Oblak as a replacement.

Three clubs seem to be in the running for the Dutch teenager's signature - United, Barca and PSG.

The Slovenian stopper is rated as one of the best in the world following his performances under Diego Simeone in recent years.

The Slovenia worldwide kept 27 clean sheets in 50 matches in 2018 - more than any other goalkeeper in Europe's top five leagues including Liverpool's Alisson and United's De Gea - and conceded just 36 goals.

The former Benfica goalie has kept the highest number of clean sheets in the Spanish league in each of the past four campaigns.
