Hence, the arrival of its successor is overdue. After the segment was officially opened with the Razer Phone, Taiwanese electronics giant Asus came out with the ROG Phone back in 2018.

Information regarding the ROG Phone 2's new display was reportedly confirmed by a post made from the brand's official Weibo account.

For the record, the ROG Phone 2 isn't the first ASUS mobile device to sport a display with high refresh rate. The firm has also promised that upcoming games will be enhanced to deliver 120 Hz experience. To recap, the current ROG Phone already sports a display with 90Hz refresh rate, which is already impressive in its own right.

As per the Google translation, the company announced that "Under the One Man" will perfectly fit the 120Hz screen of the ROG Phone 2 to provide a more delicate and refreshing fighting experience that will be better than the previous games.

After announcing its partnership with Tencent Games for its upcoming gaming smartphone, Asus has confirmed the first major feature of the Asus ROG Phone 2. Not much else has been revealed about the next ROG Phone, but since the first one launched in July of previous year, we shouldn't have much longer to find out more.

Other rumors point to the Snapdragon 855 CPU and up to 12GB RAM. We expect for most of these features to carry over to the ROG Phone 2, although the battery capacity might be increased and we could expect to see an in-display fingerprint reader.

For now, all we know is that the Asus ROG Phone 2 will be released in July, but no word on pricing and availability has been given by Asus. However, the exact launch date is yet to be disclosed.
