Rep. Ilhan Omar says she has experienced increase in death threats

In her speech before a Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, Omar said Muslims had "lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen and, frankly, I'm exhausted of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be exhausted of it".

Earlier that month, Ms Omar's image had been used on a poster displayed at a Republican-backed rally at the West Virginia statehouse.

As you can imagine, more people are reading The Jerusalem Post than ever before.

Privately, Mr. Trump's advisers describe Ms. Omar as his ideal foil.

Mr Trump captioned his tweet with: "WE WILL NEVER FORGET!"

Minnesota has the largest concentration of Somalis in the nation, and most of those are in the Minneapolis area.

Yet, it's hardly just "some Jewish Democrats" who interpreted Omar's infamous "It's all about the Benjamins baby" slur as antisemitic. However, her purported statement on white, non-Muslim men was entirely fabricated.

Justice Dept. expected to release Mueller report Thursday
Opposition Democrats like Nadler have launched new investigations of Trump , a Republican, but the president is objecting. The attorney general then sent Congress a four-page letter that detailed Mueller's "principal conclusions".

But, she added: "It's absolutely abhorrent the comments she continues to make and has made and (Democrats) look the other way". House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Saturday criticized the president for using the "sacred" memory of 9/11 for a political attack. Now, a president uses that dark day to incite his base against a member of Congress, as if for sport.

Lawmakers from Trump's Republican Party have accused Omar of minimizing the September 11 attacks, while critics of the president say he took Omar's words out of context in order to stoke anti-Muslim sentiment. "It has to stop".

"There are fabricated controversies; their aim is to hurt her reputation, misrepresent her words and meanwhile to reduce her reputation and put pressure on Democratic leadership to kick her out of the important committees", he said. "What if he was a Muslim", Ms. Omar tweeted.

Rep. Andr Carson, who along with Omar is one of only three Muslim members of Congress, said on the call that he believes that such a security review is "long overdue" and said that the Sergeant at Arms, he believes, has been "too slow" to respond to death threats because the believes they don't have the "capacity" at this point.

The civil rights group was in fact founded in 1994 but grew significantly after 2001.

However, all of the criticism was focussed on the phrasing around the 9/11 attacks. Not without fault, she has previously gone back on statements made about Israel and pro-Israel lobbyists. They want her gone because she upsets a cabal that is still essentially upper class, white, Christian, instrumentally liberal but ultimately conservative and war-mongering. Her tweet, referring to the $100 bill, implied that Israel's American supporters are motivated by money, not shared interests and values. "I've ordered that the full resources of the federal government go to help the victims and their families", former president George W. Bush stated on the morning itself, "and to conduct a full-scale investigation to hunt down and to find those folks who committed this act". "And frankly, I'm exhausted of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be exhausted of it", Ms. Omar told the crowd. "How many times have we seen this before?"

She rocketed to global celebrity as an inspiration for women after the unexpected election win, and she became only the second leader to give birth while in office since Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto. As an African-born, female, Muslim politician, she is an obvious target for the far-right.
