The prime minister claimed there was a "Modi wave" this time that is stronger than the one in 2014.

Addressing an election rally in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Modi also hit out at the Congress for raising doubts on the Balakot airstrikes, its failure to prevent atrocities against Kashmiri Pandits and corruption in defence deals. He also picked on Pakistan, saying that India's cross-border strikes had exposed its "nuclear bluff".
