Joel Embiid Could Miss The First Playoff Game For 76ers

It's no secret, the 76ers are a much better team with Embiid on the floor as the focal point and as they continue to build chemistry, his health will be central to their playoff aspirations.

Joel Embiid's always lingering injury concern has struck at the worst time for the Philadelphia 76ers star.

Joel Embiid has been one of the most exciting players in the National Basketball Association these past couple of years and he has been a huge reason why the Philadelphia 76ers have been able to get out of being one of the worst teams in the league.

The team later listed Embiid as doubtful for Saturday's game.

Embiid said he's recently been experiencing increasing pain in his left knee.

Raiders reportedly could take first-round QB, 'very high' on Dwayne Haskins

The 7-footer was relatively healthy this season, however 13 of the 18 games he's missed have come after the All-Star break, with the team struggling in those games at 6-7 without Embiid, who has battled minor knee and back injuries in recent weeks.

The first-round schedule is below, with times for games one through four already in place.

As for what to expect from the Sixers, well all the work put in over the previous year to make sure this team is in better position to make a run at the NBA Finals will be put to test right away when facing the Nets.

"We're planning on him playing", Atkinson said. "[The team is] going to do whatever they can as far as getting me ready and healthy, but if my body doesn't respond based on the pain level, there's really nothing you can do".
