Curry heads to locker room after rolling ankle

Stephen Curry suffered mild ankle sprain in game against Pelicans.

Curry left the Warriors' penultimate game of the regular season against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday after falling in the first quarter.

Last year, Curry was out for the entire first round of the playoffs with a grade 2 MCL sprain, and with how deep the Western Conference is, the Warriors would not want to play another 7-game series without Curry on the floor.

Obviously, any injury to Curry is concerning, but his struggles with near career-derailing ankle injuries earlier in his career give a heightened sense of worry whenever Curry aggravates anything related to his ankle.

Warriors: Forward Andre Iguodala (left toe soreness) and Andrew Bogut (rest) also did not play.

In fact, it was Curry who waved himself off after hitting a shot, clearly not willing to risk further damage with the playoff opener potentially as close as four days away.

Christian Wood had 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Pelicans, who closed out the season with 13 losses in their last 16 games as they mixed and matched lineups of primarily young or recently acquired players they sought to evaluate for the future.

"We think he's going to be fine", Kerr said.

A day later, Kerr said Curry's ankle is fine and there are no concerns.

Steve Kerr on Wednesday brushed aside any concern over Steph Curry's injury status. "Whatever happens with the seedings, we prioritize our health".
