Valve's new Steam Hyperlink replace permits you to stream wherever

Fresh off Microsofts xCloud demo and ahead of Googles supposed game streaming announcement, Valve updated its SteamLink app to allow uninterrupted gaming experience outside of your home.

Update your Steam Client to the beta build, dated March 13 or newer.

For now, said gaming devices are limited to the original discontinued Steam Link plugged into a TV via HDMI, Raspberry Pi and Android devices. You could only stream games on your local network at home.

If Steam Link Anywhere sounds like your cup of tea, you take it for a spin now.

Valve extend Steam Link out of the home and networking API to all developers

Launched in May 2014, Valve's Steam In-Home Streaming was created to allow a gamer to run any Steam title on a powerful desktop and stream it to a less-powerful device anywhere in the home. That opens up the possibilities for streaming PC-quality games to just about any device from anywhere a good connection can be found. To install it you go into the settings of the app and change the setting within the "Beta Participation" menu item to "Steam Beta Update". Although some workarounds are required to get it working properly, even a Chromebook could feasibly be used to play the games.

As stated many times the service is still in beta form and requires good internet speed for both PC and mobile device.

Valve has likewise released the Steam Networking Sockets APIs that are presently accessible to amusement engineers as a component of the Steamworks SDK v1.44 release. I'm looking forward to testing Steam Link Anywhere in the near-future to see how playable it really is-just because it's supported doesn't mean it's ready.
