Miami Dolphins Trade Ryan Tannehill To Tennessee Titans

The move, which comes a day after free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater balked at Miami's offer to sign, will put Tannehill squarely behind veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been traded to the Tennessee Titans in a deal that also involves draft picks.

Ryan Tannehill's days in Miami were numbered when the season ended and today they ended for good.

The 30-year-old Tannehill will reportedly have his contract restructured in Tennessee to pay him a guaranteed $7 million with a chance to make an additional $12 million in incentives.

Golden Tate heads to the Giants to help replace Odell Beckham Jr
The Steelers have already reportedly made a move to sign wide receiver Donte Moncrief but could also be a buyer for Golden Tate . It is a bit of a surprise he'd choose the Giants given their current situation and him being 30 years old.

With Tannehill now on board, Titans general manager Jon Robinson said Friday the team will release Blaine Gabbert, who backed up Mariota last season. "We wish him the best with the next step of his career". Tannehill has missed 25 games over his last three seasons due to a variety of injuries including a right shoulder capsule injury that cost him five games in 2018.

But Tannehill never lived up to expectations in Miami. And his departure doesn't come as a big surprise when considering reports surfaced that the team was expected to go a different direction at the quarterback position under head coach Brian Flores.

@Titans have traded for and signed @ryantannehill1 to a one year contract. You could argue that he and Tannehill are incredibly similar - both are athletic, accurate quarterbacks and their playing style feels similar.

Tannehill had 16 300-yard passing games for the Dolphins, topped by his 431-yard performance in a 24-21 overtime loss against Arizona during his rookie season.
