Google cracked down on 2.3 billion bad ads a year ago

That comes out to over six million bad ads per day!

That's a big number, but it's smaller than a year ago, when Google blocked 3.2 billion bad ads.

In total, the search giant took down 2.3 billion ads that violated its advertising policies a year ago.

This number is down from the when Google reported it eliminated 3.2 billion ads from its network. Some 734,000 publisher and app developers were removed from its ad network, and ads were removed entirely from almost 1.5 million apps, Google said. The company's "improved machine learning" tech allowed it to identify and ban nearly one million bad ad accounts, helping it to get to the root cause of bad ads on its network.

And the former Venezuela global reckons Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe would be a much better option than Eden Hazard .

Google announced that they have removed 2.3 billion bad ads in 2018 for violations of both new and existing policies. The company provides examples such as for-profit bail bond providers, which it bans from advertising through its ad network. Google says the decision was made due to evidence that these providers take advantage of vulnerable communities. That affected various abusive ads related to "third-party tech support, ticket resellers, cryptocurrency and local services such as garage door repairmen, bail bonds and addiction treatment facilities", Spencer said. That's about double the number as previous year, Scott Spencer, Google's director of sustainable ads, said in a blog post.

The spread and monetization of fake news and misinformation have been a focus for the platform - and lawmakers - for more than two years now.

Google also launched election ads policies in the USA ahead of the midterm elections past year and created a political ads transparency report to provide more information about who bought election ads. With that technology, coupled with manual reviews, the company said it removed ads from more than 27 million pages that violated its policies previous year. The real challenge going forward, judging by Google's updated policies, is keeping up with the evolving ways of these malicious actors.
