Facebook Removes Elizabeth Warren Ads, Then Restores Them After Outcry

Politico first noticed Monday that Facebook had taken down some of the ads, with the social media giant explaining, "This ad was taken down because it goes against Facebook's advertising policies".

Warren, one of the leading 2020 Democrat presidential candidates, released a plan on Friday to break up some of America's largest tech companies, which includes Facebook, Google, and Amazon, as a means to separate herself from the increasingly large swathe of Democrat presidential candidates.

In a curious sequence of events Monday that has gained the attention of some folks online, Facebook temporarily pulled some ads placed by Democratic presidential hopeful Sen.

At the South by Southwest festival (SXSW), which often features many large tech companies, Warren defended her plan to separate large Silicon Valley companies.

Algerian President Bouteflika pulls candidacy for fifth term
The plane, one of several executive jets owned by the Algerian government, left Algiers just before 0700 GMT on Sunday. He was deposed in a bloodless military coup in 1965 that set the stage for a series of generals serving as presidents.

"We removed the ads because they violated our policies against use of our corporate logo", a spokesperson told Politico.

"Three companies have vast power over our economy and our democracy. We break them apart, that backs up the influence a little bit, and it makes absolutely sure that they're not engaged in these unfair practices that stomp out every little business that's trying to get a start, every startup that's trying to get in there".

"It's time to break up Amazon, Google and Facebook", the ad reads, then links to a petition with an extensive follow-up. "But in their rise to power, they've bulldozed competition, used our private information for profit, and tilted the playing field in their favor". More than a dozen other related Facebook ads that featured photos of Warren instead of the video stayed on the platform. But I want a social media marketplace that isn't dominated by a single censor. The ad, apparently and understandably, did not sit well with someone at Facebook, however, with Politico reporting that three such ads were unavailable as of Sunday morning.
