Chiefs' Tyreek Hill being investigated for battery on child

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is under investigation in Kansas City for alleged battery.

Overland Park police spokesman John Lacy confirmed the 25-year-old is involved in a police criminal investigation, but would not confirm any other details about the case or his involvement.

Hill has not been charged. According to a report from the Kansas City Star, the Overland Park Police Department is investigating a dispute that lists a juvenile as the victim.

"We're in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities", the club said in a statement.

This is a very serious allegation especially given Hill's history of domestic violence. Hill pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation in August 2015. Following his arrest, Hill was dismissed from the Oklahoma State football and track and field teams.

Kansas City took Hill in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Cox joined Facebook in 2005 and is largely responsible for the News Feed, one of Facebook's foundational features. Daniels will be replaced by Will Cathcart as the head of WhatsApp, however.

"Tyreek has done a nice job staying on top of himself with that", Chiefs coach Andy Reid said late last month. "We would never put anybody in this community in harm's way".

"Those guys, those fans, they have every right to be mad at me", Hill said, via ESPN.

It appeared to be working, too.

Hill just completed his third season with the Chiefs, during which he amassed 1,479 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, in addition to 151 rushing yards and a touchdown, and 20 punt returns for 213 yards and another touchdown.

This is the second time within the past year that such an incident involving a Chiefs player has come to light. The largest contract given to a wide receiver is the $90 million, five-year deal that the Giants gave Odell Beckham Jr., who has since been traded to the Cleveland Browns.
