Savage released on bond pending deportation hearing

Last week, USA rapper Jay-Z said 21 Savage's arrest was "an absolute travesty" and hired Mr Spiro to help with his fight against deportation.

A number of celebrities have organized a massive social media campaign, titled "21 Days You Could Be Detained If You're Undocumented in America", in support of Savage.

The rapper, who was arrested by ICE agents in Atlanta over Super Bowl weekend, has been released on bond pending a deportation hearing, reports TMZ. Below is a statement from 21's lawyers Charles H. Kuck, Dina LaPolt and Alex Spiro.

They said they received notification in the previous 24 hours, "in the wake of the Grammy Awards at which he was scheduled to attend and perform", that he was granted an expedited hearing. He won his freedom.

The lawyers said that 21 Savage, whose real name is Sha Yea Bin Abraham-Joseph, would not forget the ordeal or the other people he was locked up with who "remain unjustly incarcerated accross the country".

5 members of East Texas family, including infant, found shot dead
Lyons says a firearm was recovered from the house about 75 miles northeast of Houston and that no suspects were being sought. Five people were found shot and killed in a home in an unincorporated town in eastern Texas on Monday, police said.

Roc Nation issued a statement as well, saying, "We are pleased that 21 Savage was released on bond and will be reunited with his children after his incarceration". And asks for your hearts and minds to be with them'.

21 Savage has lived in Atlanta since 2005, having arrived in the USA at the age of seven.

Black Lives Matter also tweeted in support of 21 Savage.

His legal team did not immediately clarify what comes next in the case of the 26-year-old rapper, whose chart-topping latest album "I Am I Was" was released in December.

The rapper has several relatives in the United States, including his three children who are all US citizens, and his mother and four siblings, who are either lawful permanent residents or USA citizens, his lawyer previously said. They said last week that Abraham-Joseph came to the USA when he was 7 and remained in the country until June 2005, when he went to visit the United Kingdom for a month.
