Kyrie Irving day-to-day with strained right knee

Kyrie Irving day-to-day with strained right knee

Irving left with 2 1/2 minutes left in the second quarter after spraining his right knee while weaving through traffic on defense.

In a season which has seen the Boston Celtics fight through their fair share of ups and downs, last night's collapse against the Los Angeles may have been one of their worst showings.

The Celtics are coming off a 129-128 loss against their archrivals, the Los Angeles Lakers a couple of days ago and obviously would like to bounce back. Montrezl Harrell led the team with 19 points on nine of 13 shooting, Danilo Gallinari added 12 points while Lou Williams chipped in with 10 points.

The Celtics' last game before Saturday's loss was a home defeat to the Lakers that featured Boston blowing an 18-point lead and former Celtic Rajon Rondo hitting a buzzer beater to win it for the road team. It was the biggest comeback by a team in the National Basketball Association the past two seasons, the largest in Clippers history and Boston's biggest blown lead since December 5, 2003, coming two nights after the Celtics spit the bit on an 18-point lead in a 129-128 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Lakers. They just scored 74 points in the first half.

The Celtics may yet make an addition on the buyout market - perhaps Marcus Morris' twin Markieff or Enes Kanter - but they can not afford to lose Irving for an extended period of time.

Irving has been averaging 23.6 points per game this season and 6.9 assists per game.

Problems With Wells Fargo Services Continue for Second Day
Fees caused by the outage would be reversed, the company said and tweeted: "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience". The company has been suffering an outage since Thursday due to a power shutdown at a facility, according to the company.

Garrett Temple, Ivica Zubac, JaMychal Green and Shamet all made their debuts for the Clippers after being acquired by Los Angeles at the trade deadline.

The Celtics were unable to do their usual pregame walkthrough because of a 1 p.m. Boston Bruins game that went into overtime and delayed the changeover from ice to parquet. I just don't see the joy in the game. Coach Brad Stevens said Irving would have more tests on Sunday.

It was the largest comeback by any National Basketball Association team in the past two seasons.

The Celtics are making sure it doesn't happen for the second straight game.
