Director Bala clarifies on 'Varmaa' controversy

Varmaa, is an upcoming Tamil movie, the remake of Telugu blockbuster movie in which young actor Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey played the lead role. The film, which is the official remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, also marks the debut of actor Vikram's son, Dhruv Vikram. The also clarified that Dhruv will continue to be the hero. The note says, " I am forced to release this explnation, due to the flse statement from the producer of "Varmaa". Initially Vikram thought that National award winning director Bala would be the best choice for the Launchpad of his son but finally he has walked away from the project.

In his statement, Mukesh said: "E4 Entertainment had engaged B Studios to recreate the Tamil version of Arjun Reddy, titled Varmaa, on a first copy basis on the latter's insistence". As requested by E4 entertainment, B studios have handed over footage, stills, soundtracks, IT tracks, unmixed and mixed songs and tracks. "Despite this unfortunate turn of events which has cost us heavily, our love for wanting to see this cult film in Tamil has not diminished in any way". The production has earlier released a statement announcing the news. According to the agreement, Bala was given full freedom while making Varmaa including the necessary changes needed and the director delivered the product. "B Studios hereby have no objection for E4 Entertainment to take up the project and further add on scenes or make changes to the now existing version of the film", states the agreement. Official announcements regarding the new cast and crew including director will be made shortly. Hence, the production house has chose to reshoot the movie. In the agreement, Bala made it clear that his name shouldn't be used in any promotional materials of the film.
