NBA All-Star Game Voting Totals Released Ahead Of Roster Announcement

NBA All-Star Game Voting Totals Released Ahead Of Roster Announcement

If the NBA All-Star game were to play this weekend, then last year's regular-season MVP and a back-to-back Finals MVP wouldn't even crack the starting lineups.

In the most recent returns, back-to-back National Basketball Association finals Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant has been knocked out of the Western Conference starting lineup, displaced by Oklahoma City's Paul George.

George has 1,859,216 votes, trailing only the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James (2,779,812) and Dallas' Luca Doncic (2,220,077) among Western Conference frontcourt players.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is the leader in the Eastern Conference with 2,670,816 votes.

Apple reportedly cuts iPhone production by 10 percent for first quarter
Chief Executive Tim Cook reiterated in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday that India was a major focus for Apple. The report indicates that Apple is going to reduce production from 43 million units to 40 million iPhones.

Antetokounmpo is second with 2,670,816 and leads an Eastern Conference starting five that now includes Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving. It's just a bit wild to see his name above guys like Durant, Paul George, Anthony Davis and Nikola Jocic who are all having better seasons in more important roles.

The fan vote, which opened December 25, accounts for 50 percent of the vote to determine the 10 All-Star starters.

While Lonzo moved up from 175,040 votes to an impressive 529,164 votes, he is still ranked eighth among guards in the Western Conference.

Starter spots for the February 17 game at Spectrum Center will be announced the night of January 24 on TNT. And if voting were to end today, the two forward would be the captains for this year's draft. As such, both players are headed toward being named team captains in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game. The NBA Celebrity and Rising Stars game will be Feb. 15, the Slam Dunk contest and 3-point shootout will be Feb. 16 and the NBA All-Star Game will be at 8 p.m. ET on Feb. 17.
