Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul suspended pending inquiry into comments on TV show

The backlash is so severe that even Hotstar, the digital streaming platform that aired the episode, has pulled it down following the controversy.

Ranveer Singh is being slammed on social media for his "sexist" comments.

The legal team suggested that Johri send fresh show-cause notices to both players and that he submit his final report within 15 days.

The pair got themselves in hot water when appearing on Indian television show Koffee with Karan, hosted by Bollywood producer Karan Johar. After watching the episode, one can not help but notice the double standards when one expresses strong views on making the film industry safer and better and lending support to the #MeToo movement versus the unending silence to apparent sexism and misogyny.

After facing vast backlash on social media, Hardik Pandya had taken to his social media account to apologise and had blamed the "nature of the show' for his remarks on women".

"At a party, my parents asked me, 'Acha tera wala kaun sa hai [Which women are yours]?"

Sarri frustration over Chelsea transfer policy continues to grow
And now Robben, who spent three seasons at Chelsea , says Hudson-Odoi should take the leap and play for Bayern. I am happy with the player because he is improving, improving a lot in the defensive phase.

A senior BCCI official seconded Edulji's view and said that there should be suspension pending inquiry. He also made culturally appropriative comments like he was from "Black culture" which is why he liked to concentrate on how women moved in nightclubs rather than asking their names.

"Obviously, the ACU needs to see, which player is going where. This one", pointing out the women he slept with and he further added that how his family was proud of him. While Rahul was somewhat restrained, Pandya did not exercise any restraint. Talent pe hota hai.

The comments triggered social media outrage, and prompted Pandya to release a statement apologising for his behaviour, saying he got "carried away by the nature of the show". In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments.

"From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support", Kohli told reporters.

"#KaranJohar, shame that you snared innocent young cricketers into your trap for TRPS. their future is at stake and the country has lost 2 players in the current series", an angry Twitter user commented. He is upset at what they have said have cast aspersions on the conduct of Indian cricketers in general.

As punishment, Pandya and Rahul were suspended by India's cricket administrators, hours after captain Virat Kohli expressed his strong disapproval.
