Ford Recalls Nearly 1 Million Vehicles Due To Faulty Airbag Inflator

Ford is recalling 953,000 vehicles worldwide, 782,384 in the United States and 149,652 in Canada.

You can visit Ford's website and enter your car's Vehicle Identification Number to see if it is affected by the recall.

Recalled models include the 2010 Ford Edge, the 2010-11 Ford Ranger, the 2010-12 Ford Fusion, and the 2010-14 Ford Mustang are included.

The Takata recall is one of the largest in US history. The company added the recalls could be limited to specific geographical areas.

You can find a list of the Ford vehicles effected by this recall listed below.

4th Test: Australia out for 300; India enforce follow-on
At the other end, Jasprit Bumrah (1-62) set up Peter Handscomb (37) who played on after a resilient innings facing 111 balls. Brief Scores: India 622/7 December lead Australia 300 (Marcus Harris 79, Mitchell Starc 29*; Kuldeep Yadav 5-99) & 6/0.

The devices use ammonium nitrate to inflate the airbag in the event of a crash.

But the automaker is recommending vehicle owners get to dealers as soon as possible for their replacement airbag, which is free. In previous Takata recalls, parts availability had been an issue. "Long-term exposure to high heat and humidity can cause these air bags to explode when deployed".

The report says 16.7 million faulty inflators out of 50 million under recall have yet to be replaced. This is the fourth planned expansion of vehicles included in the Takata inflator recalls, described in the National Highway Traffic Administration's Takata coordinated remedy order.

The recalls forced Takata of Japan to seek bankruptcy protection and sell most of its assets to pay for the fixes. The most risky inflators are in areas of the South along the Gulf of Mexico that have high humidity.
