Elissa Ennis Believes 49ers Undermined Her Domestic Violence Claims

Days after the San Francisco 49ers released Reuben Foster following his arrest for suspicion of domestic battery in Tampa last month, the Washington Redskins claimed him off waivers. She said in the interview that she and Foster were very close, but behind the scenes Foster wasn't the "good-hearted person" her family thought he was.

Ennis' explanation for recanting her accusation earlier this year echoes how many domestic violence survivors feel.

Ennis said she was in Tampa at Foster's request to discuss their on-again, off-again relationship.

A criminal report affidavit obtained by ABC News said that Foster allegedly slapped Ennis's "phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area and slapped her with an open hand on the right side of her face". Niners general manager John Lynch said at the time that Foster was "not living up to what we had communicated and to the energy and the time that we've invested in him".

She also said she suffered a concussion from the incident, ABC reported. "I was not telling the truth", Ennis told ABC in an exclusive interview.

Ennis, who had bruises on her neck and face after the altercation, said this has happened several times with Foster.

Foster abused Ennis on at least three occasions, she said, telling "Good Morning America" she had been punched and kicked, among other violent acts.

Ennis had previously accused Foster of domestic violence in February. The charges were dropped after the after Ennis recanted. It issued a statement after pouncing on him to say that it did not "condone" domestic violence but that more investigation was required into the incident.

Six Palestinians sentenced to death in Gaza over spying for Israel
The Hamas spokesperson further stated, "Collaborators must realize the (Israeli) occupation will not be able to protect them". A Hamas-controlled military court on Monday sentenced six Palestinians to death for allegedly collaborating with Israel.

'When he got signed, I was like, "I can't believe somebody picked him up".

"I did what I had to do for the person I loved". I thought that he would change, ' she said. Now, she says her lie in court was a lie borne of love.

The team didn't cut Foster after the February incident because they were aware that Ennis was going to recant her story, she said, adding that she now regrets that decision.

Doug Williams, the Redskins' senior vice president of player personnel, said in a statement last week that team officials "fully understand the severity of the recent allegations made against Reuben".

A voicemail left for Ennis' attorney, Adante Pointer, was not immediately returned.

Foster was arrested in Florida in November, hours before his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, were set to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Foster is on the commissioner's exempt list and now ineligible to play, and a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that he would not appeal his placement on the list as the legal process plays out.

Reuben Foster's accuser spoke to ABC News and said the Redskins" hiring of the linebacker was "slap in the face'.
