Vince Gilligan Is Making a Breaking Bad Movie

USA entertainment industry website Deadline reports that it is unclear if cast members from the original series, which was toplined by Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, will return for what is envisioned as a standalone Breaking Bad story.

'Yeah bitch!' It's time to get cooking again because "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan is now working on a two-hour movie extension of the AMC series. THR reports that Gilligan is writing the script for the film, which will be set in the existing franchise and, according to the site, involved "the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom".

The Breaking Bad movie would mark Gilligan's first project to stem from the new three-year deal he signed with Sony in July.

Variety confirmed the creator of the series that saw its final days in 2013 is working on a new movie to tie in with the show. Given the format, a prequel wouldn't make a lot of sense (particularly when SPT could score another extended win like Better Call Saul with another spin-off) so it could be that we're looking at the possibility of the return of Bryan Cranston's Walter White and Aaron Paul's Jesse Pinkman.

Production is set to being in Albuquerque in mid November and continue until early February, the Journal says.

Breaking Bad, the hit TV series that followed the transformation of Walter White - a human doormat/chemistry teacher who discovers he has terminal cancer - into the criminal mastermind behind an extensive and ambitious drugs operation, is coming back as a film. It would join prequel series Better Call Saul.

For now, then, we'll have to wait and see what this becomes. "I just hope we figure it out because I've got to hear, 'Yeah, bitch!' one more time".
