Samsung's foldable smartphone specs leak, will be showcased at developer conference

After what seems the better part of a half-a-decade of unofficial rumours, Samsung has started to tease its long in development foldable display smartphone.

These new names include the Samsung Infinity Flex, the Samsung Infinity O and Samsung Infinity U, these new trademarks were recently filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

"First, Samsung needs to show foldable smartphones are commercially viable".

Both, however, have been pipped to the post by Royole, a Chinese display making start-up, which last week unveiled a foldable phone with a 7.8 inch screen, priced from around US$1,300. Many are taking that as a not-so-subtle hint that the Korean tech giant is planning to unveil the long-awaited foldable phone at its annual developer conference, which takes place November 7-8 in San Francisco. "We are focusing more on the features that the users should get when they unfold the device", said Harksang Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Mobile Visual R&D at Samsung Electronics. While not much is known about the device yet, it is speculated that the device will unfold to look like a tablet. Phones with the display on the outside could have something like a traditional smartphone form factor when closed, which could open up into a tablet-like form factor. The phone could pack in 512GB of internal storage.

LeBron James criticized for going to Diddy's party after latest Lakers loss
The Lakers had an extremely slow start to the game, as they trailed by a score of 41-17 after one quarter. I feel healthy now, and they just don't want to rush into things.

The move also underscores a new level of caution in product planning after a costly recall for its fire-prone Galaxy Note 7 in 2016.

The company, however, has already lost the race for the world's first commercial foldable phone. Talking about the camera, there is a possibility that Samsung might add just one camera module on the Galaxy foldable phone.

The FlexPai uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series SoC, which brings impressive and industry-leading AI to the device.
