Google Chrome 71 will block all ads on sites displaying abusive behavior

Site owners can use the Abusive Experiences Report in their Google Search Console to see if their site is getting all ads blocked.

In November 2017, Google implemented in Google Chrome several protections against so-called "trick to click" that tried to redirect Internet users to unvisited sites to earn money through ads or identity theft.

Hidden Ad Click Areas When web sites utilize hidden background or non-visible elements that when clicked on lead to an advertisement or landing page. With this landmark, the company has also announced policies to subdue abusive ads with renewed vigor.

Google is making it even more hard to display ads that are being shown persistently on a site. In Chrome 68, an older version of the browser, websites with abusive ads were prevented from opening new tabs or windows.

The new version of Google Chrome will block all ads on the website for Intrusive banners. Sites with known abusive behavior will have all ads blocked in the Chrome browser automatically.

Among these, the medical and healthcare segment is projected to account for a large market share in the next few years. Further in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market report is examined for price, cost and gross margin.

It's happened to everyone: you're visiting a website when a pop-up ad appears which looks a lot like a system warning. Chrome also tries to limit autoplay of videos, among other things.

Chrome users may disable the browser's ad-blocking component by adding sites to the list of allowed sites or by allowing ads.

With the update, expected to roll out in December with Chrome 71, Chrome will ramp up enforcement. But with Chrome 71, these measures are about to get stricter and more robust. More specifically, the Firefox 63 update allows users to block cookies and storage access from third-party trackers.

Google has targeted deceptive ads in the past.

While Google's policies, on the surface, champion the user, some paint Google's crusade as somewhat self-serving, pushing for ad rules that favor its own advertising platform. And with more and more data scandals creeping up, there's growing demand from users for tech companies to take responsibility of this data and protect it. Instead of stopping forceful redirects, Chrome 71 will simply weigh whether a website contains "abusive" content, and if it does, it will block all of its ads.
