When someone tweeted her pointing out that both Latifah and Mo'Nique had starring rom-com parts, she responded: "Hey girl!" In a series of tweets, the actress admitted she was wrong to claim the title of "first-ever plus-sized" woman to play the lead in a romantic comedy and was "deeply sorry".

By Saturday, Mo'Nique herself chimed in on Twitter, suggesting Wilson "take a moment and know the history" of romantic comedies before making such bold claims about her casting. Many on Twitter accused Wilson of ignoring the achievements of black women and blocking them when they pointed it out.
