The BMW 8 Series Convertible features a standard automatically activated rollover protection system, which activates the moment that data analysed by the central safety electronics indicate a risk of a roll-over. Rear seats can be folded in 50:50 form for additional load space. The car's wide centre console rises up towards the instrument panel at the front, separating the driver and front passenger areas. The seats are lined in premium Merino leather and contrast stitching can be ordered to add an individual touch. The headrests are integrated into the backrests and can be adjusted for both height and fore/aft position.

European buyers will also have the choice of the 840d xDrive.

Some interesting options will be available for the convertible, including Heat Comfort with a heated steering wheel, as well as the cool BMW Display key with controls available right there on the key, as well as a powerful Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system.
