Remedy's Alan Wake is being adapted for TV

Remedy's Alan Wake is being adapted for TV

Remedy's next big game was Quantum Break, which was itself imagined as a fusion of television and video games. Lake said there's now "no news" to share about an Alan Wake 2 game, even though he said making one would be "a dream" of his. It was today reported that Peter Calloway, writer on Cloak and Dagger and Legion, has signed on as the series' showrunner, with game creator Sam Lake slated to serve as executive producer. Harlan also mentioned that Alan Wake will be successful as an adapted television series instead of a movie, saying that TV is a better fit for video game adaptations. 'That was Sam's vision. It's stated that Sam Lake is highly involved with the project, taking inspiration from other American television like "The Twilight Zone", "Secret Window", "Hitchcock", and more. So, whether the title can outgrow its own influences is another hurdle Calloway will have to leap over.

'We plan to work closely with Sam on our this show. Sam is a huge part of this. Harlan said a number of studios have already shown interest.

The Alan Wake series won't adapt the game as it is, but rather treat its story as "a starting point", Lake said.

While there's no release date for the Alan Wake TV show yet, Harlan said he intends to pitch the show in October.

Hurricane Florence has weakened slightly to a Category 2 storm , but don't be fooled, it's still incredibly unsafe . Florence is becoming more of a threat to more people - now including some in Georgia - in more ways.

And in doing so, the show will tap into the story that was planned for the Alan Wake game sequel that never came to be. And while that may have been eight years ago, Alan Wake is reportedly making a return to the big screen-the big TV screen. "We'll be expanding the lore of this insane and dark universe and diving deeper into certain aspects of it than the game ever did".

No word yet when or where you'll be able to catch the Alan Wake series, as the show is still being shopped around.

Furthermore, it seems Lake isn't ready to talk about an Alan Wake 2. "As before, we're exploring these possibilities and hoping to make it happen when the time is right".
