This new PS4 is a translucent blast from the past

This new PS4 is a translucent blast from the past

Sony is to release a specially designed PS4 as a thank-you to PlayStation fans for helping the platform surpass 525.3 million unit sales worldwide. A 500 Million Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset featuring the same dark blue transluscent design with copper detailing will also be released for $99.99 Dollars / $119.99 CAD / €89.99 / 12,000 yen. Some lucky buyers will also get their consoles engraved with special serial numbers that commemorate important events of PlayStation, said Sony.

If you're as old as I am, then you'll remember the day Sony launched its first PlayStation way back in 1995 (1994 in Japan). It comes with a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, PlayStation camera, vertical stand, and mono headset.

The units will be serialized with a copper plaque on it, though it's hard to think of 50,000 units as a "limited" run. The DualShock 4 500 Million Limited Edition variant can also be purchased separately for RM 259. According to the company, it will be available on August 24, although pricing hasn't been announced at this time.

Ahmed Elmohamady nets in Aston Villa’s victory at Hull City
Hull City tried to restore their lead, however, the Villans maintained composure and defensive shape, ending the first-half 1-1. The victory was the ideal way for the Midlands club to start the season, following a tumultuous summer.

I'm not into the accessories as much, but dang, the copper detailing on the console sure is nice.

The 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 will also be available as a standalone purchase for $64.99 Dollars / $74.99 CAD / €64.99 / 6,480 yen. The DualShock 4 controller ($64.99) and the Gold Wireless Headset ($99.99) will be available later, sometime in early September from select retailers in the United States and Canada.
