Master Chief is confirmed to star in Showtime’s Halo series

During Showtime's panel at the Television Critics Association press tour, president David Nevins and president of programming Gary Levine confirmed to GameSpot that Master Chief will feature in the upcoming series. He also briefly addressed the question about whether Master Chief's face would be seen on the show, since it has been hidden in the video games.

Sarcastic demeanour aside, I'm sure many Halo fans, including myself, will be relieved to hear that the Chief is set to be the lead character, especially as Halo 5 seemed to drift away from him a little.

Halo fans can be rest assured that although the series will have a new story, the essence of the characters and the Halo universe will be untouched.

World Health Organization says latest Ebola outbreak in DR Congo is Zaire strain
In the DRC's last outbreak in western Equateur province, there were also "massive logistical constraints", says Mr Jašarević. There are now 16 confirmed cases of the hemorrhagic fever, 27 probable cases and 31 suspected ones under investigation.

"It is a new story, but we are being incredibly respectful of the canon and working with Microsoft 343 people to be sure we don't violate any of that", Levine said. "We made a conscious decision to hire a writer not known for sci-fi or big battle movies". But representatives shied away from the inevitable Game of Thrones comparisons. With credits like the TV show Lone Star and the movie The Beaver to his name, he doesn't immediately sound like a likely candidate for the adaptation. Showtime president David Nevins called it a "futuristic, space-based science-fiction" similar to Star Trek, adding that it was not fantasy.

Nevins, though, said that he feels about Killen the same way that he felt about Homeland's Alex Gansa before that series became a hit (and is now entering Season 8). It's weird that television hasn't turned up those kinds of franchises. It took us a long time to get the script but we felt like we had something that was really interesting and felt like it belonged on Showtime in terms of its character depth, and it's gonna be a big show. "It's going to be a big show". "I mean, that's the big deal". I guess looking back on it, it would be insane for the Halo series to NOT include the most famous Spartan space marine.
