Ky. Sen. Rand Paul invites Russian lawmakers to Washington

Today, I met with Chairman Kosachev, and we agreed on the importance of continued dialogue.

USA senator Rand Paul called for increased dialogue with Moscow and invited a delegation of Russian lawmakers to Washington DC during the Republican's visit to the Russian capital on Monday.

In a meeting at Russia's upper house of parliament, Paul also invited Russian lawmakers to meet with members of Congress, in Washington or elsewhere, Interfax news agency cited him as saying. I think this is incredibly important.

The U.S. visit will be the first in three years for the Russian Federation.

I guess looking back on it, it would be insane for the Halo series to NOT include the most famous Spartan space marine. But representatives shied away from the inevitable Game of Thrones comparisons.

The Republican senator and ally of U.S. President Donald Trump said he had traveled to the Russian capital to encourage diplomacy amid tense relations between Moscow and Washington. Paul also told reporters that there are hopes to have meetings in a neutral third country.

He said he opposed new sanctions legislation against Russia that was backed by a bipartisan group of USA lawmakers last week, but said he represented a minority voice, Russian news agencies reported. I represent the minority.

The senator, once a foe of the president, has emerged as a unique and somewhat renegade voice, coming as both Republicans and Democrats criticize Trump for not taking a tougher stance against Russian Federation.

"I can tell you I will try not to allow them to do this easily", he was cited as saying.

Paul's visit comes following a historic summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Senator Rand Paul is visiting Russian Federation as part of a private group, " said a representative of the US Embassy in Moscow.
