Atletico Madrid defender Godin rejected massive Man Utd contract offer

Manchester United made an eleventh hour effort to sign Uruguayan worldwide Diego Godin, but their advances have been rebuffed by the defender.

Manchester United are prepared to make a last ditch attempt to sign Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin, report SkySports. Mourinho is desperate for the signing of a new defender but has failed to find one so far.

Obviously Godin would be a superb short-term addition if United were able to pull it off but it's looking highly unlikely unless things take a drastic change over the next couple of hours.

The Uruguay global eventually made a u-turn and extended his stay at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Trump administration calls for 'Space Force' to be established by 2020
According to Pence, this militarized Space Force would be part of the Defense Department, and they meant to create it by 2020. President Trump has also called on Congress to appropriate $8 billion for space security systems over the next five years.

The 32-year-old has plied his trade in the Spanish capital since 2010 following a switch from Villarreal. Godin also had a splendid 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation, earlier this summer, where he played a crucial role in Uruguay's run to the quarterfinals.

Sky Sports also revealed that Manchester United's search for a defender has not gone according to the plans this summer. He has 122 worldwide caps and has scored 8 times for Uruguay.

United have signed three players this transfer window, Diogo Dalot, Fred, and Lee Grant. As a result, Mourinho has often cut a forlorn figure during the pre-season.

The Red Devils are understood to have already missed out on a number of targets, including Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire, Jerome Boateng and Yerry Mina.
