TERROR IN TORONTO? Gunman Expressed 'SUPPORT' for ISIS Website Ahead of Attack

Hussain opened fire in the bustling Danforth neighbourhood of Toronto, claiming the lives of a 10-year-old and an 18-year-old.

A law enforcement source told CBS News that Faisal Hussain visited Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) websites and may have expressed support for the terrorist group.

Hussain apparently had been spoken-to by authorities about his online activities.

A source said that Hussain attended high school at Toronto's Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute and Victoria Park Collegiate Institute and was apprehended twice by police while he was under age 18, according to CBC.

Those answers did not immediately come from Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders, who declined to comment on what prompted the attack.

"I promise all of the people of Toronto, but most importantly those directly affected by this tragedy, that we will all be relentless in getting answers about why this senseless attack happened", Tory said. "It's way too early to rule out anything".

"Our hearts are in pieces for the victims and for our city as we all come to grips with this bad tragedy", Hussain's parents said.

"Tonight, a despicable act has been perpetrated on the Danforth in our city". In April, a driver deliberately ploughed his white Ryder rental van into a lunch-hour crowd, killing 10 people and injuring 15 along a roughly mile-long (1.6-km) stretch of sidewalk thronged with pedestrians.

Hussain's family said he had suffered since infancy from serious mental problems, which treatment and medication were unable to overcome.

At that time, the insurance cover was extended to all installations minus the proportion of Iranian oil the company processed. He also accused the United States president of using the language of "night clubs and gambling halls".

Faisal Hussain, the 29-year-old identified as the gunman in Sunday's Danforth attack, never took the elevator up to the seventh-floor north Toronto apartment he shared with his parents.

"Right now we need to focus on respecting the family's wishes for privacy as they deal with a terrible loss", Mayor Frank Scarpitti said Wednesday.

Hussain, buried by his family on Wednesday morning, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a source close to the family said. An autopsy on the suspect will be conducted on Tuesday, SIU spokeswoman Monica Hudon said.

The Greektown shooting comes about three months after the city was shaken by the deaths of 10 people, majority women, killed by a man with an apparent grudge against women who drove into them on a busy street in Toronto's north end. The Defense Ministry said no one was injured and gave no further details.

"At this stage, we have no evidence to support these claims", he said.

Mayor John Tory has suggested that he would be in favour of stricter regulations, commenting that he does not see any reason for anybody to possess a gun in Toronto.

"Why does anyone in this city need to have a gun at all?" he said. "This is someone who had an idea of what they were doing and were determined to do it".

Possible measures the government could look at, according to Lewis, include increasing the depth and frequency of background checks on gun owners and giving doctors the ability to contact police if they believe a patient's mental health status may make them a threat to themselves or others.
