Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson to join 'Cats' film adaption

The pop giant is set to star in a film version of the Broadway musical "Cats", Deadline reported Friday.

Hudson, who made her Broadway debut in the recent revival of The Color Purple, will take on the role of Grizabella, but the roles that Swift, Corden, and McKellen have been tapped for have not yet been announced.

The upcoming feature film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical, Cats, has found it's felines. The film, which is still under a Working Title, will be directed by Tom Hooper, and filming is set to begin in November in the U.K. Jennifer will portray "glamour cat" in the movie, but Taylor's role has yet to be confirmed.

Taylor, James and Ian's characters are being kept under wraps for the time being.

The play follows a tribe of cats called the Jellicles over the course of one night as they decide which of their group will ascend to the "Heaviside Layer" and come back to a new life.

Conversely, Hamilton has won in Germany three times, including twice at Hockenheim (2008 and 2016). In short, the Formula 1 landscape is hardly recognizable from what it was back in 2016.

The last movie Taylor was featured in as an actress was 2014′s The Giver.

First performed in 1981, Cats is the fourth longest-running show in Broadway as well as West End history, with a direct-to-video version of the production released in 1998.

Tom Hooper - who directed 2012's Les Miserables film adaptation - is set to helm the adaptation, which will start filming in the United Kingdom later this year.

As Dave Trumbore wrote up in the original announcement of the project (nearly two years ago), "Cats was originally based on the T.S. Eliot poetry collection "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats".
