T20 Tri Series: Pakistan Smashed Australia by 45 Runs

T20 Tri Series: Pakistan Smashed Australia by 45 Runs

Opener Zaman smashed a blistering 73 off 42 balls helping his team post a fighting total of 194.

Mire struck 94, the highest score by a Zimbabwean in a T20 worldwide, but Zimbabwe's 162/4 was not enough to overcome the world's top-ranked T20 global side.

However, Fakhar Zaman was named Man of the match as he took the game to bed, courtesy his blistering innings in the first innings.

"We look forward to the next game, we don't get to play a lot of worldwide cricket and Friday's match is very important for us even though we have failed to qualify".

Mixing aggression with an ability to manoeuvre the ball around the field, he cracked four fours and a six.

Pakistan lost Haris Sohail for a golden duck after being put in to bat on a chilly midwinter morning in Harare, but Zaman and Hussain Talat wrested back control back with a rapid 72-run stand. The tactic spoke volumes about his development as a limited overs batsman.

Lewis Hamilton accuses Ferrari of dirty tricks
Hamilton ended up finishing second but with Sebastian Vettel winning, he has now extended his championship lead to eight points. He was soon up to 16th and by lap nine he was eighth, but some distance from Vettel, who led Bottas by six seconds on lap 12.

Sarfraz Ahmed came in and played a brilliant, characteristically street-smart cameo, and in the early stages it appeared he would be the one to guide Pakistan to what then looked an unlikely target.

Executing his attacking strokes perfectly, Ahmed found the gaps and boundaries whenever they were needed.

While Muzarabani finished with two wickets to his name, left-arm spinner Tendai Chisoro was the only bowler to escape severe punishment.

The 31-year-old, who played a smashing knock of 172 off 76 balls in the third T20I against Zimbabwe, notched up the highest individual score in the shortest format of the cricket for the second time.

Zimbabwe continued to accumulate steadily keeping their wickets after Masakadza fell early for two runs and Tarisai Musakanda made 33 from 22 while Elton Chigumbura (5 not out) and Malcom Waller (0 not out) saw out the overs with Zimbabwe finishing on 162 for 4. Pakistan and Australia will face each other in the final and this match is an opportunity for both the teams to test out their players before the big match. The alliance had rattled to 64 in 43 balls when Mire, poised to become Zimbabwe's first T20I centurion, was dismissed with 10 deliveries remaining.
