LeBron James Mural Vandalism Video Released

LeBron James Mural Vandalism Video Released

LeBron completed his sensational move to the LA Lakers earlier this week and a huge mural was painted to celebrate the King's arrival - but the spectacular artwork did not last long. On the court, these Lakers are a young and entertaining product.

The LeBron mural before it was covered over with white paint.

On Wednesday, an L.A. news anchor shared a surveillance video of the mural being vandalized once again by one of James' fellow Angelenos.

The artist specialises in "topical" murals including recent works following the untimely deaths of chef Anthony Bourdain and musician Chester Bennington, which still remain intact. James being a possibility to star could be a clue, since you'd think his spectrum as an actor might be a bit limited given that he's a 6-foot-8, 250-pount NBA superstar, but we don't even know if the movie will be about basketball yet.

But even if the caption was left with a reference to James's nickname, 'King James, ' the graffiti returned this week, prompting Never to paint over the entire mural entirely.

'I know when to cut my losses, ' said Never, who has also painted a Kobe Bryant mural.

"I called him and said, 'Well, did the sun come up this morning?'" Elisburg said, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Muralist Jonas Never created the mural of James in the wake of the 14-time All-Star agreeing to a four-year, $154 million deal with the Lakers on July 1.

"I hope he finds the happiness that I found (in Los Angeles)", he said.
