After months of speculation, and with Uruguay's World Cup done and dusted, Arsenal have finally completed the signing of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria for a reported fee of a very reasonable £26 million.

Indeed, another midfielder, France u20 global Matteo Guendouzi is also set to join the Gunners.

The 19-year-old started his career at the Paris Saint-Germain acadeAcademy re joining Lorient's academy in 2014.

Unai Emery was full of praise for Arsenal's new signing.

Internationally, he has represented France at U18, U19 and U20 level - scoring once for the latter two age groups - and has been compared to fellow countryman Adrien Rabiot.

Arsenal have sealed the signing of Uruguay global Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, the Premier League campaigners have revealed.

Matteo Guendouzi has joined the gunners from Lorient and is just a young talented player but the gunners have a good history of promoting young talents into world-class players so everyone will be looking forward to see the French youngster in action for them in the up coming season.

On signing for the North London outfit, Guendouzi told the club's website: 'It's something I'm immensely proud of.

'It gives me great pride - it's incredible.

He expressed his desire to join Arsenal and we therefore moved quickly to bring the matter to conclusion, believing a swift resolution to be in the best interest of both Sam and the club.

"My hope is to become a top player here at Arsenal", he said. "We welcome Lucas to Arsenal and look forward to him joining us soon for pre-season", added Emery, who allowed injury-prone midfield duo Jack Wilshere and Spaniard Santi Cazorla to leave when their contracts expired at the end of June. Emery has already promised the Arsenal faithful attacking football and is well known for putting together exciting squads, which is presumably why the club saw him as the outstanding candidate to replace Wenger in the first place.
