Battlefield V is getting battle royale

The trailer, seen above, shows off what the developer described in the earlier event, such as dynamic destruction, the new fortification construction feature, among the usual gameplay snippets. But this isn't like all of the previous WWII shooters you've ever played.

Looks like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and PUBG will have competition in Battlefield V. As rumoured previously, Battlefield V will be getting a battle royale mode.

"No loot boxes, no premium pass", they confirmed to audience applause. Instead of asking players to pay extra to get new maps, every update is now free, and developer DICE is focusing on cosmetic items as a way to generate revenue from the game as an ongoing platform. For example, players will be able to move fences and air-turrets around on the field, and they can even dive and crash through windows like action stars.

The popular game dev took to Twitter to welcome the "old friend" to the Battle Royale business, in all caps, with a "less than three" heart capped at the end.

Battlefield V launches in October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
