Robinson Cano to be suspended 80 games for PED use

Robinson Cano, the Seattle Mariners second baseman whose first 13 major-league seasons appeared to put him on a Hall-of-Fame track, received an 80-game suspension Tuesday for violating baseball's drug policy.

Cano is an eight-time All-Star, and a critical component in the Mariners' bid to end baseball's longest postseason drought.

Cano suffered a fractured fifth metacarpal in his right hand when he was struck by a pitch from Detroit's Blaine Hardy on Sunday.

"For more than fifteen years, playing professional baseball has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life", Cano's statement read".

PNB posts net loss of Rs 13417 crore for Q4
After the announcement of its quarterly result, the share of the state-owned lender was also hit by a significant margin. For the March quarter, the bank saw its total provisions more than triple from a year earlier to 203.53 billion rupees.

"Robinson made a mistake".

"Furosemide is used to treat various medical conditions in the United States and the Dominican Republic", Cano said in part in a statement issued by the Major League Players Association.

Cano has already come out with the cookie cutter denial we always see, with the word "never" attached to cheating the game or taking PEDs, while suggesting Furosemide is not actually a performance-enhancing substance and something he got for medical need. He's on the disabled list with a broken hand. He has explained to us what happened, accepted the punishment and has apologized to the fans, the organization and his teammates. A second violation results in a 160 game suspension, while a third results in a lifetime ban from the sport.

The suspension is unpaid, so he will lose about $11.5 million in salary. From 2007 through 2017, he played in at least 150 games each season and played in at least 160 games six times during that span. The 31-year-old Beckham hit.300 with four homers and 15 RBIs in 25 games at Tacoma.
