Picture flawless: Sonam Kapoor kisses Mahira Khan at Cannes film festival

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who was also seen in Shah Rukh Khan's Raees a year ago, is at Cannes Film Festival 2018 and will be making her red carpet debut along side India's Sonam Kapoor tonight. I mean, it's not even like we know Anand much thanks to Sonam who has always preferred keeping her man and her love life private. L'Oréal has always been the official partner of the film festival and has sent numerous brand ambassadors from across the world to represent it.

In a Twitter post, the actor trivialised Mahira's achievement and questioned why she was going at the first place if she had no movie to represent. The photo soon went viral on the social media platform with users admiring the two actresses for supporting each other. Dressed up in a black strapless Alberta Ferretti gown, Mahira looked every inch a ravishing enchantress. She took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of them together and declared that she has been missing her man dearly.

This was Mahira's first appearance at the Cannes film festival as the brand ambassador of the cosmetic group and she nailed it with her stunning look. "Such is his admiration that the moment he saw Sonam make her first global appearance as a married woman in a custom Ralph & Russo gown, Anand couldn't resist from sharing her look on his Insta story with a caption saying, "#ProudHusband", #Inspired". "#Cannes2018", she tweeted on Monday.

Cannes Film Festival bosses sign gender equality pledge
The move stems from a red carpet protest by 82 female actors, writers, directors, and producers at the festival on Friday . Cannes Film Festival chiefs have made a pledge for gender parity and inclusion.

After Cannes film festival's most popular face Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the newcomers Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut, it was the turn of the one who doesn't fit in either category, Sonam Kapoor, to shine on the red carpet. "Starting from my Ama to Minaal and Rooha. down to all my girls back home in Pakistan".

Custom made by Ralph & Russo, the intricately embellished lehenga marries Desi and Western fashion perfectly. Finishing it off was her hair worn loose with curls at the end.
