While the spy thriller did not enjoy a mammoth opening, settling for Rs 7.53 crore at the close of Friday, the weekend saw cinephiles turn up in greater numbers.

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer "Raazi" is raking in the top spot at the box office this weekend. The first installment of the big-budgeted action-adventure will hit the screens next year. And in its opening weekend, the film did business in India to the tune of Rs 32.94 crore.

With strong content and power packed performances, "Raazi" has set an example at the box office. Made for Rs20 crore, Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki recovered its entire investment from the sale of its digital rights alone, theatrical box office collections of over Rs46 crore served as cherry on the cake.

According to early estimates, Raazi has earned Rs 13.80 crore (approx) on Sunday, thus taking the total to Rs 32.63 crore (approx). "India biz", Taran Adrash tweeted, adding that if the film 'holds on strong levels on weekdays and beyond, ' it will emerge a super-hit. The film has been received well by the audience and is considered to be one of the best films of Alia Bhatt.

The Meghna Gulzar-directed flick is produced by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions. She reportedly said that they are absolutely more than friends. they are co-actors and that they are working together in a "beautiful film" called "Brahmastra" which will release next year.

Raazi also stars Soni Razdan (Alia's mother), Rajit Kapur and Jaideep Ahlawat.
