Saudi King Knocks Embassy Move

Saudi King Salman told leaders from across the 22-member Arab League that Iran was to blame for instability and meddling in the region.

The heads of Arab states will renew their rejection of US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, slated for May.

King Salman also announced a $150 million donation for the maintenance of Islamic heritage in East Jerusalem.

The status of Jerusalem, which is home to holy religious sites and has particular significance for Muslims, Christians and Jews, has long remained a sensitive topic and one of the core issues in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

"We extend our support to the Palestinians' right to establish their homeland based on the 1967 lines with the capital city Jerusalem, as stated in the global resolutions and Arab peace initiative", said Al-Jubeir during his speech at foreign ministers' preparatory meeting on Friday.

Within the same context, Arab leaders will condemn the Turkish military operations in Syria's Afrin and the military operations in the Ghouta area by the regime with Russian and Iranian support.

Saud al-Qahtani, Saudi royal court advisor, published a photo showing various Arab leaders before a simple dinner table spread after finishing the conclusion of the 29th Arab League Summit held in Dhahran.
