Playable Ewoks are coming to Star Wars Battlefront II

The only way to obtain crystals is to spend real money on them, and crystals themselves can only be spent on new "Appearances" to use in game. It's not just a cosmetic addition either, as an entirely new game mode is being introduced. That puts you in the shoes of Ewoks or Stormtroopers, as the latter group tries to survive a night on Endor in a forest surrounded by carnivorous bears.

For newcomers who may not be aware of the goings on with Battlefront 2, crystals originally debuted along with the game, however, the backlash that EA received on their "pay-to-win" method led to them pulling crystals from the game completely.

You can play as an Ewok or a stormtrooper, but obviously Ewok sounds like the better deal.

Microtransactions will once again come in the form of Crystals, which can only be purchased with real cash.

Electronic Arts and DICE have detailed the Night on Endor update for Star Wars Battlefront 2. Thankfully, Star Wars Battlefront II begins their community turnaround by taking risks with their first big community update. The new update will feature a limited-time mode, and special appearance items that can be unlocked during the event with Crystals or Credits. Available only for a limited time, Ewok Hunt lets you stalk your Imperial enemy under the cover of night, or desperately fight to hold off the pint-sized throngs until you can escape. If you start the match as a stormtrooper, you'll get to blast the critters to your heart's content.

EA are adding the ability to play as ewoks or to hunt them, as they also reintroduce microtransactions to the game. Star Wars Battlefront II released on PC, Xbox One and PS4 back in November 2017. More than 50 new Appearances are coming in the update, including Wounded Chewbacca, Scarred Kylo Ren, Administrator Lando, and 40 new Trooper Appearances.
