James McAvoy and Bill Hader in Talks for IT Chapter 2!

James McAvoy and Bill Hader in Talks for IT Chapter 2!

The sequel to the Stephen King movie It is on the way, and now we've learned two more actors who may be a part of it.

Bill Hader is in talks to star in the sequel to It as the motor-mouthed joker Richie (played in the first film by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard), and James McAvoy is negotiating to take on the role of Bill (originated by Midnight Special actor Jaeden Lieberher).

It revolved around a group of kids who are terrorized by Pennywise The Clown and the sequel will pick up the story 20 years or so later when the characters, now adults, return to their home town and come face to face with Pennywise once again.

Kraft said Mill's incarceration makes it clear that "we have to do something with criminal justice reform". Mill has been serving a 2-to-4-year sentence since November 2017 after violating his probation.

McAvoy, 38, is being tipped to play the adult version of Bill, played by Jaeden Lieberher in the first film. He seems to have called it perfectly, just like Sophia Lillis, who mentioned wanting to see Jessica Chastain join the sequel.

Hader and McAvoy are now consulting their parts as the adult versions of Richie Tozier and Bill Denbrough, brought to life in the 2017 film rework of Stephen King's 1986 novel It by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and The Book of Henry actor Jaeden Lieberher. The script, which is being written by Gary Dauberman, is apparently not finished. Bill Skarsgard is also expected to return as Pennywise. The sequel has a scheduled release date of September 6, 2019, with filming set to begin this summer.

2017's IT broke box office records left, right and centre and underlined the financial viability of the recent horror resurgence. The plan was to make two parts, but that hinged on the first being a success-it definitely was.
