Ian Somerhalder to Headline Vampire Novel Adaptation V-Wars for Netflix

From one vampire show to another...

It's only been a year since The Vampire Diaries went off the air, but Ian Somerhalder just can't seem to stay away from the bloodsucking beings.

V-Wars is based on the IDW book by Jonathan Maberry, and chronicles the stories of the "first Vampire War".

Coli outbreak traced to romaine lettuce
The experienced attorneys from Pritzker Hageman law firm represent and helps people who have been sickened by contaminated food. The farms in the Yuma, Arizona region supplies romaine lettuce to the country during March through November of each year.

The series will see vampires and humans split into camps, as more people are infected with the disease. A war eventually breaks out between the people and the so-called "Vampires", and Swann is stuck in the middle. However, numerous actor's Vampire Diaries fans are sure to follow him to the V-Wars Netflix series for the latest chapter in his career. Swann races against time to understand what's happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires.

Stargate and 24's Brad Turner will executive produce the series, as well as direct the pilot episode.

A little over a year after The Vampire Diaries wrapped its eight-year run, Ian Somerhalder is sinking his teeth into another series about bloodsuckers. William Laurin and Glenn Davis will serve as showrunners. "We are thrilled to partner with Netflix to bring the multifaceted world that Jonathan Maberry created to audiences worldwide". V-Wars: Chronicles of the Vampire Wars has four installments, and is distributed by IDW Publishing, who is also producing the series alongside High Park Entertainment. As millions fall to a disease and turn them into vampires, the remaining humans try to fight off the vampires in what's know as the V-Wars, according to the report. The genre drama joins a roster of Marvel fare including the recently renewed Jessica Jones and gives the streamer a series vampire drama as The CW is prepping the final season of Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, while working on yet another offshoot from the franchise.
