Your Xbox Live game presence can then be shared to your friends over Discord. Citing the popularity of the Discord program that lets gamers communicate easily, the Xbox Wire announcement explained how the integration will work.

"In response to your feedback, you will now have the option to link your Discord account to your Xbox account, making it easier than ever to see what your friends are playing", said Xbox Live General Manager Daniel McCulloch.

So, if you're on Discord and want to be able to talk to your friends while playing on your Xbox One, you'll be able to do that hopefully in a few weeks.

While communication typically relied on Party Chat and in-game voice channels, more players have turned to services such as Discord, Skype, Mumble, and a collection of others for clear, real-time conversation. You'll be able to test this new functionality out when it's officially rolled out in the coming weeks.
