President Muhammadu Buhari says the reason he is seeking re-election in 2019 is because majority of Nigerians appreciate what his administration is doing.

He said the declaration would reduce distractions and help the government focus on key sectors like security, agriculture, economy, anti-corruption, and so on. This was partially a function of the reliance on oil that saw us abandon the historical revenue collection systems and switch to a culture of sharing resources, rather than generating them.
